International solidarity PINK walk/run on 2 October 2022

International solidarity PINK walk/run on 2 October 2022 On 2 October 2022, the Hope Giver campaign together with the partnering foundations organized an international solidarity PINK walk/run that was held simultaneously in France, Lebanon, Tunisia and Egypt and was opened to all members of the community. Previous Next An awareness-raising sport event was organized to raise awareness of the importance of early detection as part of the celebration of Pink October to combat breast cancer. The event was held by AMC Association headed by Mrs. Raoudha Ben Miled Zarrouk in partnership with the municipality of Tunis and it featured walking, Zumba practices and bazaar. In Egypt, Bahia Foundation together with the Hope Giver campaign organized a PINK RUN under the slogan: “Together we build Sheikh Zayed Hospital”. Led by Eng. Maged Hamdy, a member of the board of directors of Bahia Foundation, and Captain Anwar Elkamony, founder of THGC, volunteer teams from Cairo & Giza and volunteers of Bahia Foundation took part in symbolic participation in the construction of a new hospital in Sheikh Zayed city and ran awareness run around the hospital site. The city of Nice saw its largest cancer-related event, with more than 2,400 participants that responded to the invitation of the SOS Cancer du Sein association “to walk and run against breast cancer”. Raising awareness for the youngest, organized and individual screening, and prevention through physical activity were the keywords of this event. The event featured a marathon run, Zumba dancing sessions and bazaar. In Lebanon, cancer patients fight two battles — one against their disease and another to obtain much-needed treatment. That’s why on the occasion of Pink October, under the slogan “First of all Medication, not Pink Illumination,” the Barbara Nassar Association for Cancer Patient Support arranged a protest in solidarity with breast cancer patients. Gathered in Martyrs’ Square in downtown Beirut, Dr. Hani Nassar, the head of the association, alongside Salloum, as well as two members of parliament, Ghada Ayoub and Adeeb Abdelmasih, took part in the protest with patients and their families.
